An Interested Party Information (IPI) number is a 9 to 11 digit number assigned to songwriters and publishers by their Performing Rights Organizations. An IPI is like a social security number and it uniquely identifies a songwriter as a rights holder.
In Canada, IPI numbers are issued by SOCAN upon registration.
